If you have an interview for a slightly elevated position to your current one, Holly’s three key pieces of advice are for you:

  1. Perform your due diligence. Do your homework on the opportunity. Look at the mission, the technology, the product, the executive team. It is critical and a requirement at every interview.
  2. Look to mentors. Look to people that have mentored you in the past and let them know that you are looking at something that requires a little more than you’ve done before. If they have been in that seat, they can offer strong counsel of how to best represent yourself.
  3. Dress the part. Dress as if you are at that level already and whatever is required of that, whoever you are going to interface with, all of those should fold in nicely together.
